Corinthians were founded at a time when football was still marked by elitism and the club’s first president Miguel Battaglia quickly made his club’s position clear at the inaugural meeting on Sept. 1, 1910.

“Corinthians is going to be the club of the people and the people are going to make the club,” he stated.

Ever since then one of the Timão’s principal tenets is equality for all, independent of race, social class or religious beliefs.

To reinforce that long-held belief, the Timão is launching “Black and White Consciousness Day” this Tuesday.

Corinthians, in partnership with the SPR company and the Rede Poderoso Timão, the club’s own shops that sell Corinthians products, will be launching a new line of clothes entitled "É Preto No Branco” or “It’s Black on White.”

The line features male and female tshirts with designs that illustrate Corinthians’ commitment to the cause. They will go on sale this month at the Timão’s shops and online at http://www.shoptimao.com.br.
