Corinthians' new signing Nicolás Lodeiro pulled on the famous black and white shirt for the first time on Friday and declared himself ready to help the club win more titles.

'I am happy here,' Lodeiro said at the club's Dr. Joaquim Grava training centre, where he met the press for the first time. “There are lots of good players and that motivates me.’

The Uruguayan midfielder said his move from Botafogo was an important one for him and he promised to give his all in his new home in Sao Paulo.

'I want to win titles and help the team. It's a big step forward in my career coming to a big team like Corinthians. My objective here is to focus on doing things well.'

Lodeiro goes straight into the squad for Sunday's league match at Coritiba and could make his debut. Corinthians are currently in second place in Serie A.
