On this Tuesday (11th), in Shanghai, China, the skateboarder Rony Gomes took one more podium defending the Sport Club Corinthians Paulista. The Alvinegro's athlete won the bronze medal at the Mini-Megaramp competition of the Kia World Extreme Games. The North Americans Andy MacDonald, ten-times world champion, and Adam Taylor, got first and second place respectively.

"I am pretty focused on this year, always seeking good results. I left Brazil to come to China, it was a really long trip and I did not want to come for nothing (laughs)", Roney comments. "I put more pressure, I was a little bit nervous, although well concentrated to do my moves", the skateboarder continued.

"I was seeking the 720, which is a move with many turns and probably would give me a higher position. I was not that accostumed to the ramp though. That is why I decided to do a safer turn in my last chance. With a 360 ollie, which is the move that I do not hold the skate, and one 540 tailgrab, which I grab the bottom of the skate, I took the podium", Rony says.

"The championship was nice. Ítalo (Penarrubia), another Brazilian skateboarder that is on the competition, put a lot of pressure", he declared. "Sharing the podium with Andy Mac is huge. This guy is 40 years old and he is so good. I was glad to be there and compete equally with them", he added.

On this Wednesday (12th), still on the World Extreme Games in Shanghai, Rony Gomes has a chance to win another medal for Timão. The Corinthians' skateboarder will be at the Vert's finals.
