Corinthians welcomes MMA fighter Frank Mir this Friday

North American Frank Mir will become Sport Club Corinthians Paulista’s latest “signing” on Friday when the former MMA champion drops in at the club to give a special training session for Corinthians’ fighters.

The Las Vegas athlete will visit the gym at the Parque São Jorge to give local fighters the benefit of his experience.

Mir was the UFC heavyweight champion in 2004 but was badly injured in a motorcycle accident shortly after winning the crown. He spent two years recovering but came back to hold the interim belt again in 2008 and 2009.
