Corinthians futsal team is to tour North and Central America in December, the latest in an ambitious move by the club to expand its international presence outside Brazil.
Current champions of the Liga Paulista, the Timão will head to Panama, Guatemala, Mexico, Canada and the United States to play exhibition games and hold clinics with teachers and coaches.
“The internationalisation of the Corinthians brand is one of the priorities for the club’s current directors and the futsal tour is an important step forward,” said Fausto Bittar Filho, Corinthians’
Director of Terrestrial Sports.
“The main objective of the team this season is to win important titles and we are working towards that, but the confirmation of this tour is very positive not just for futsal but for Corinthians as a whole.”
The tour is being organised by sports marketing firm iSM. The company has deals with some of the regions’s biggest players, teams, federations and Olympic committees.
“We hope this tour will be an annual event that will lead to additional opportunities for Corinthians to expand their presence in this emerging market for football that is filled with potential,” said Daniel Gamba, director and partner at iSportsMarketing.
The senior futsal side is sponsored by Betel, UNIP-Universidade Paulista and Colégio Amorim.

Friday, Dec. 12 – Panama City – Clinics and courses for coaches in the morning; game in the evening
Saturday, Dec. 13 - Guatemala City - Clinics and courses for coaches
Monday, Dec. 15 - Mexico City - Clinics and courses for coaches in the morning; game in the evening
Wednesday, Dec. 17 - Toronto - Clinics and courses for coaches in the morning; game in the evening
Friday, Dec. 19 - Salt Lake City - Clinics and courses for coaches in the morning; game in the evening
Saturday, Dec. 20 - Las Vegas – Evening game
Sunday, Dec. 21 - Los Angeles - Evening game
Monday, Dec. 22 - Los Angeles - Clinics and courses for coaches in the morning
