The CBF has confirmed that Corinthians will play Botafogo at the Arena Corinthians on June 1 following FIFA’s request that the club hold a second test event at the stadium.

The game was supposed to take place in Rio but the fixture has been swapped to ensure a second match can be played at the Arena Corinthians before the opening match of the World Cup on June 12.

The swap means that the Corinthians-Botafogo match originally scheduled for Sao Paulo on Oct. 12 will now be played in Rio de Janeiro.

The June 1 fixture will kick off at 4pm and will be Corinthians’ ninth in the Serie A this season. The Timão are currently 8th in the league table.

The CBF also confirmed that Corinthians’ match against Cruzeiro will take place at the Canindé stadium on May 28, kick off 10pm. Tickets for that game will shortly go on sale through the Fiel Torcedor scheme.

More details of upcoming Serie A games are available at the CBF’s web site: http://www.cbf.com.br/Competições/Série+A/Tabela/2014.
